Second Meeting of Editors and Publishers of the Mexican Republic
The IAPA brought together Mexican newspaper editors and publishers and national legislators in the Second Meeting of Editors and Publishers of the Mexican Republic, held June 26-27, 2008 in Mexico City, Mexico, with the objective of coming up with concrete proposals to combat the growing violence and impunity surrounding crimes against journalists, a situation that is giving rise to a major problem of self-censorship.
