The Switzerland-based organization Press Emblem Campaign reported that a total of at least 106 journalists were murdered in 2010.

Fourteen of them were killed in Mexico, the same number in Pakistan, 10 in Honduras, eight in Iraq, six in the Philippines, five in Russia and four each in Colombia, Brazil and Nigeria.

Press Emblem Campaign now regards Latin America as the most dangerous place for journalists due to the high number of murders in Mexico and Honduras.
