IAPA

MIAMI, Florida (January 27, 2011)—Some 50 singers and lyricists have registered to take part in the “Lend Your Voice For Those Who Have No Voice” contest organized by the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), submitting sung or written entries calling attention to the impunity surrounding crimes against journalists committed in the Americas.

The musical and artistic event offers a $5,000 cash prize for the winning entry, along with professional production and a recording on disc. There will also be a $1,000 prize for the best lyricist in the “Lend Your Lyrics” section, in addition to second and third place cash awards in both areas.

Artists, lyricists and composers interested in learning details and further information about the contest in its two aspects should go to the Web sites www.donatuvoz.com/espand www.donatuvoz.com/esp/dona.html. They will also find a description of the most emblematic cases of impunity, which can serve as a source of inspiration, at the Web site www.impunidad.com.
