At 1:28 a.m. a man approached the journalist’s car outside the entrance to a building where he rented an apartment in downtown Trelew. He lowered the window and the man shot him.

He was carrying almost $1,500 and several checks which were not stolen.

2002:
On September 12, 2002 Daniel Vitti, alleged mastermind; Gustavo Fabián Smith, alleged perpetrator, and Alejandro Zabala, alleged accomplice, were acquitted by the Northeast Chubut Criminal Court.
