At 7:25 p.m. as he left his home – where he also operated the radio – to park his car on the patio, he was attacked by a man who shot him four times.

In October 2007 the official investigation had to be carried out again due to irregularities in the initial inquiries in which, for example, a hit man was accused of committing the murder while the journalist’s family insisted that he had not been involved.
The journalist’s wife claimed that she felt threatened.
