That day he phoned a colleague with whom he was to meet later and told him he had a brief appointment with one of his contacts and they would see each other after that. His whereabouts have remained unknown since then.

The Mexican Attorney General’s Office pointed to Raúl Enrique Parra, a drug trafficker killed in November 2005, as one of the suspects in Jiménez Mota’s disappearance.
The case was taken up at the federal level by the Mexican Attorney General’s Office, although by late 2007 the results of the investigation were still unknown.
